This free player will play .mov & .mp4

So far this is the only player I've found that will play the JVC mov and Mp4 files without any codecs installed

its free SourceForge.net: MPUI-hcb

Matt, have you tried the free, cross platform VLC Media Player? It's also very adept at playing various formats without any codecs installed.

Just a thought,

Thanks for the link to the player. It works great! It even lets you step through a clip one frame at a time.

I'm using KMPlayer. It's a great player as well. I like it best to double click the .ifo file in a DVD_TS folder, it will play the DVD with navigation structure. No need to use programs like WinDVD or PowerDVD.
