HM100/700 and PS3

I don't have Play Station 3, so I have no way of testing it. Could anyone tell me if this would work? Edit files in FCS2, export them in H.264 through Quicktime Conversion, copy/paste onto SDHC card and play them via PS3? I know PS3 plays AVCHD directly from SDHC, so I was wondering about a cheap way of playing HD content of my footage to some clients. Appreciate any input.

I do this with everything so I can check it on my projector but also have a copy on the PS3 in case someone wants to see something. It is great for 1080p or 720p stuff. I don't feel very confident in interlaced stuff going over correctly but I don't do much interlaced so I never really tried to figure out what was wrong.

You can do it two ways. Use compressor to make an H.264 quicktime file with aac audio and then use the QuickTime "Movie to MP4" option. This works well if you need resizing or any of the other things that Compressor gives you. Choose Pass Through for the video and audio. Just using Movie to MP4 works fine if you already are in the resolution you need but it seems like the scaling isn't as good as Compressor's "best" setting.

If you are in a hurry Movie to MP4 with a constant bit rate set high and no resizing can happen pretty quick and still look great. Luminance and gamma seem to be preserved in the process so it looks just like it is supposed to.
