Wide - Narrow - and Wide again ...

Hi all,

I have the HM700 and having previously used a 1/2" camera, I bought the 1/3" to 1/2" adapter, so I would be able to use my "manymanydollars" professional Canon lens on the ´HM700.

And it works fine. Of course I cannot go so wide as with the original lens - not a big deal, as I'm a news photog and rarely need to go wide for for example indoor shots.

However - in those rare occasions - what's your opinion on sticking a wide adaptor in front of the above setup?

In a way it's silly to use an adapter that makes the field of view narrower and then use another adapter to broaden the field of view - but then again - it has it's benefits in that it's a highly portable solution for run-and-gun, and - not unimportant - it saves a lot of bucks to a dedicated wide angle lens.

Guess it all boils down to this: will there be a quality loss - or other issues, that I haven't considered, if I use the above combo.

Opinions, gentlemen :-)
