New HM700 Firmware! mp4 recording and improved DNR...

Well this is a nice surprise:

-adds MP4 recording with the SxS adapter
-adds Class 10 support
-improved DNR

JVC Professional Software Download page

Oops, guess I missed the mention of this in the big firmware thread...

10x SDHC just comes with version V201.

The new improvement is MP4 on SDHC-cards, but
the better DNR or Signal-to-noise isn't visible.

Actually Eric the previous class 10 mod was rolled into a combined 301 upgrade, so if you didn't get it the first time in 201, you would get it now with 301.

Hello Eugen,
you need to call your local JVC-sales and
technical department for further help, I think
your firmupgrade needs JVC-technician.
The other from the former post is Version0201
and must work.
When you type the numbers in the internetform
you need only the numbers without the v.
e. g. Only
0102
0100
0103
....
....
....
....
....
Tonight I will search my different numbers from
my HM700 and what changes with the upgrade in August
and mid September-firmwareupgrade.

Thank you very much Eric.
I'll try to type the numbers only, hopefully will work.
The closest jvc rep is in Germany, 2000Km away.
My best,
Eugen

Well I got all excited and went to download the update (I didn't do the last update since I didn't need it), and of course since I was one of the earliest to get the camera I have to send it back to them... grrrr!

Same thing here - my dealer is in UK and I'm in Denmark :-(

But wouldn't it be nice to know WHY the early cames have to go back to JVC for the upgrade??? I think JVC owes us an explanation of this AND possibly a free shipping slip AND a very speedy turnaround for this. Seems unfair, that we who was on the forefront to support the new model has to suffer....

He problem bases on the splitted CcDs,
so the left side can be different to the right
half side, gamma, black-level etc, this is one
of the things, that should fixed by JVC-technicians.

Sorry I don't understand.. this is a new firmware upgrade from the one in August or still the same one? I am asking because the Class 10 thing was in that one, and the MP4 on SxS.. comes with SxS. It would be good WITHOUT SxS.. just on SDHC with no extra recorder.

It's a new one, it comes in the middle of september.

It comes also with the 10x SDHC and further with MP4 on SDHC without the
SxS-Device and improved and better DNR.
