Camera wont power on :(

I was at a shoot and I tried to stop recording but my camera wouldn't stop recording then I noticed that the BG audio was not moving either, so I tried to turn off my camera and it wouldn't shut off. After lots of worry I finally decided to take off the battery knowing that I may lose all my media. Now my hm 700u will not power up at all. Any suggestions of what may have happened . I'm pretty sure I will be sending it in for service in the next day unless anyone else has had this happen.
All ideas welcome
Shane

Hi Shane, sorry to hear about that, but from the way you're describing it, your only viable recourse is to contact JVC service & support first thing on Monday morning.

Re: Camera wont power on :(

Hi Shane, hope it's nothing serious...I haven't come across anything like that with my 700. Did you loose your shots?

Re: Camera wont power on :(

Seems like all my video is still good .. Just ingesting now but I haven't had any errors so I'm thinking it will be fine. I was hoping I would only have to take it to Halifax to the guys at PCI but I cant find them .. Any other spots over there Scott.

Hi Shane,

Sorry to say PCI is no more. You might have to send it to Gilles at Norbec in Montreal.

Good luck.

Ya I see that .. to bad.. Actually I sent it to JVC Canada to a Mr Choy, apparently he is the one who fixes these cameras. Hopefully it will be a quick fix and back home soon:)

Shane, hopefully JVC will tell you what the problem and solution was so that you can pass it along to the rest of us in case we run into the same issue.

Re: Camera wont power on :(

Hey guys, just an update on my camera.
I got a call a day or so ago was told that my micro processor had a malfunction . I asked what may have caused it and the tech said that there are several causes and he couldn't say for sure. He is going to do a write up as to what was the problem exactly when it is returned. Total cost was $1000.00. $800 for the part and $200 for labour and delivery. One lesson I learned is to buy the extended warranty which I did not. would have saved me a lot of cash and the worry that it may have been a tonne more money to fix. hope this helps, from what I gather there is nothing you can do to stop it from happening but on a side note, when he received the camera he powered it up with the power supply and it started not sure why.
