JVC HM600/650 Battery

Hi all,

I just purchased the JVC HM600. It's my first JVC so not too sure if they generally accept batteries from other JVC models or not.

Does anyone have any idea if any particular batteries from other JVC cameras will fit?

I ask because the battery I linked to above isn't available in my country, so it's going to cost me almost $300 per battery to ship them here.

I don't think that other JVC batteries will fit, because this battery has been newly developed for the three new camcorders. But if JVC can't sell you such a battery (which is strange enough), maybe IDX can? That's the company that manufacture these batteries for JVC, and according to their website, IDX has two representatives in New Zealand: Panavision NZ and Pro Video Systems, both based in Auckland.

Yeah I saw that. Unfortunately it's only open to US residents.

Just FYI, SWIT just came out with their battery for JVC HM600/650 - Model S-8I50. It is higher capacity at 47WH, and has a DC output jack and a USB jack for charging smartphones.

We do not have them in yet, expecting them to come in later this month ( we do not ship batteries outside North America, sorry)

The HM600 sounded great but the exorbitant battery prices creates a reason to pause.

If you believe the battery prices for the 600 are exorbitant, you must not have even had a 'full size' camera like the HM700. My one AB Doniac would get a couple of the 600 batteries. just sayin.
