Rumours

Has anyone heard any rumours about a new shoulder mount camera with CMOS chips?

I'd like to find something like that under the tree!

Re: Rumours

If it has the same light body design as the HM-700s and records in at least 50mbps, 4:2:2, then JVC could have a winner. I'm sure it'd still have 1/3" chips. But can SDHC cards reliably handle 50mbps video?

Re: Rumours

Yes Craig, it would be very interesting...a 700 style camera with HM600 chips...F11 sensitivity...422 colour...yes, very interesting;-)

Remember that JVC bought a chip manufacturer recently...

Re: Rumours

If you come in with something like that, and I can use it in a studio configuration like the 250s or the 790s I will take 3 please

Re: Rumours

Very interesting indeed. And another smaller model with large sensor as well, please…and a great inbuilt codec. Then I would go all JVC. I love my HM750 with the Fujinon HTs18X. It is a great combination and will stay with me for many years to come.

I have recently sold one of my EX1Rs and my FS100 because of it. I also have the JVC PL- adaptor and that will stay with me as well. Great package but not so great for traveling light and small.

Re: Rumours

I am really hoping JVC will bring out a new shoulder mount camera with 1/3 inch CMOS sensor and 50mbps so that I may continue to use my Fujinon lens and PL- adaptor. As a multi cam company I am in the market for a second HM750 and it would be a bit of a bummer if JVC released a new camera the next day after my purchase.

Re: Rumours

My 2 cents is NEVER buy a camera before NAB unless you NEED one immediately...

Re: Rumours

What if a camcorder debuts before NAB and meets your needs? Just an example, mind you, but that didn't stop the BBC from purchasing the GY-HM650.

Re: Rumours

I PERSONALLY consider the debut of the HM6xx series as being the NAB where it was HAND CARRIED FROM JAPAN as a prototype so my assertion stands! ;)
