Difference between the hm-100u and hm-100e

I understand that JVC is marketing two flavours of the GY-HM100 - one ends with a U for the american market and the other with a E for the european market. What is the difference in tech specs between the two? can you switch between PAL and NTSC with each of the different models?

I have compared the spect sheets on the two cameras, and the only difference I could find was the order features were listed on the spec sheets.

I could not see any difference in the actual cameras, other than markings. If there is any difference, I would also like to know. I have not seen Tim Dashwood comment on this, though he may have and I missed it.

One of the features I like about the HM100 is that it shoots in all modes possible, not a selection of modes based on region.

As far as I know the HM100U and HM100E have identical functionality. They can both shoot HD 1080 and 720 in 24, 25/50 and 30/60 HZ modes. Neither can shoot NTSC or PAL standard definition but they can downconvert to either (depending on the source rate.)

The difference is probably just the supplied power cable, user guide languages and warranty card.

Yes, I didn't think about the power cable. The charger is 110-240 volts, 50/60 cycles, isn't it?
