Yes, the way I'm doing it is via the HDMI out to a Matrox MXO2 Mini. The MXO2 connects to my MacBook Pro via expressCard slot. You an also use a PCIe card. Works with Mac and PCs. Others have used the Blackmagic PCI card which accepts HDMI input. I really like the Matrox MXO2. Pricey, but effective.

And, yes, the HDMI is HD.

Tom,I've been saving my pennies.Hardware Questions

Getting a new Windows laptop to work in conjunction with Vegas Pro 9 and my JVC HM100. Will be doing on location rendering and and editing. Have a couple of "pocket" hard drives that travel in the gig box (320 GB Toshibas). I would like your thoughts on the proper way to get the full HDMI signal out of the camera and to a T1 line. Don't have a lot of confidence in building something that would house and power a PCIE card (Black Magic?). Have you any suggestions other than the Matrox?
A configuration that you can suggest?
Thanks
Tracy
