How $$ is a miniDV tape where you are?

Hi.

A possibility to shot a doc in Sweden surged and I wonder if any of the swedes here could tell me how much you have to pay for a SONY miniDV tape.

here in Brazil they are around 21 reais which is more or less 7 USD. Should I stock up here or buy there?

It would be good to know about other countries to.. if in transit somewhere is good place to buy..

Thanks.

Here it's also US$ 7 for a Sony 60min tape with no chip. The new transparent colored shells, the ones they sell here have a green lid, but there are supposed to be other colors available. These are not the ones that came with the blue wrapper (some people seem to have had trouble with those, and they were more expensive, go figure).

In Barcelona you can find the Sony Premium 60 (the cheapest) around 5€... If looked properly you can get them at less than 4€, if looked wrongfully.. you can pay twice itīs price.

(sorry donīt know how much is the Euro - Dollar exchange right now)...

Sony Premiums here in New Zealand are about NZ$62 for a 5 pack which is about NZ$12.50 each which ~= US$8 that's at a place I eventually found that does a good price. In normal appliance stores etc, you're paying around NZ$20-30 for them.

Not cheap. I now order from B&H when I want tapes. Come in about NZ$8 each if I order 30+. And remember, that includes shipping all the way over here.

$4.45 - US when I buy in bulk. (50 tapes or more)

Here in southern New Jersey I just paid $5.94/each for Sony Premiums at WalMart (sold in twin-packs). Best Buy sells them for $6.63 each (in 3-packs).

I just paid about $3.50 each in a lot of 50 tapes from Tape Resources.

Our sponsor, whoops, went to get their URL and they aren't listed. Maybe they dropped. Anyway, I used them whenever their price was near TR's. But the sub-$4 price is nice.

When I get a pack of 10, I pay $3.60 per tape for the sony 60 min. Sometimes they are the colored casings, sometimes not.

I always shop at the big electronics neighborhood, Den Den Town. One store there sells nothing but blank tapes, cd's and dvd's. It's sort of like the baby brother of Tokyo's Akihabara.

In Italy I pay € 3,75 each for Fuji DVC60 tape in a box of 5 pieces.

In Norway, the Sony Premium costs around US$10 .
The Sony Exellence costs around US$18.

It might be the same (or a little less) in Sweden.

Alfred Okocha April 2nd, 2004 05:58 AM

Wow, Norway IS expensive. Does that go for cameras and equipment too?

Daymon Hoffman April 3rd, 2004 07:06 PM

Australia - I can get a pack of 5 for $48AUD. which at the moment converts to $7.35US. (our dollar is high at the moment so usually its $15US). This is only speaking in my area.

Any Australians know any online sites that sell them please let me know as i cant find any online sites with any decent selection/price.
