risky?

I have use Panasonic DVM60ME for my Canon XM-2.

Now I have buy the little more expensive Panasonic AY-DVM60YE PRO.

Is that a good choise?

I have read that it is recommended to always buy DV-film from the same company, but is there any risk to buy different film from the same company?

I think the lubricant-mixing problem comes from using different manufacturer's tapes, and not from mixing tapes made by the same company. In your case, I don't think you would have any problems.

If you're unsure, I have heard it suggested to run a cleaning tape through before switching to another brand/type of tape. (Follow the instructions on the head cleaner - you shouldn't run it too long, as it is abrassive to the heads.)

Hope this helps!

,Frank
