sticking with the same tape

i have read that it is wise to stick with the same tape, does this mean to stick with the same brand or with the brand and model tape?

i purchased some tapes from circuit city that were wrapped in different wrapping but carried the same model number as my panasonic dvc tapes.

This question has been answered a lot of times (specifically in
the forum I moved your question to).

Yes it is wise to stick with the same brand and if possible same
type/model tape as well. Some manufacturers have different
lubricants on different "models". This can get stuck on your heads.

Use a cleaning tape if you have to switch but try to keep that
to a minimum if possible.

thanks rob

good info. i've read through the threads on this subject and picked up that i should stick with one brand, but i didn't get clarity on if it was also important to stick with the same model as well as brand. so now i understand that sticking with the same brand is the main objective, and sticking with the same model is secondary. cool, thanks.
