Use Mini DV stock bought in another continent?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question, but would like to doublecheck.

There's no problem using Mini DV stock bought from B&H in the US in a PAL camcorder bought in Europe - right?? PAL/NTSC is only the signal you record on tape, and totally absent from the tape itself while still blank??

NTSC tapes are longer in length, so you'll have slightly longer total recording times. This was discussed a few years ago and you can do a search if you like. I recall that the NTSC tapes are a few meters longer.

Graham, I use US bought (B&H) tapes here in New Zealand without a problem.
