Dubbing DV: How to keep timecode?

::I'm posting this for a friend, I've tried this on other gear but the mentioned equipment is not at grasp::

He needs to dub tapes from a JVC GYDV500U to a JVC BRDV600U deck via firewire and apply the source timecode to the copied tape. Is there some way for the deck to use the timecode coming from the camera?
The 600U deck has a timecode out jack (BNC), but no time code in jack. And the 500U camera has no time code In jack, so he can't reverse the machines for dubbing.

Thanks for any help!
