Little problem with tape...

Well I don't know if it is my tape as much as my gl2 that recorded (or was supposed to record on it) As I recorded the other day the cam told me to clean my heads like three times within a couple hours...but I didn't. Came home to upload the tape and it is like a digital box of colors and on the side I can see the actual footage...just a very thin strip on the side. I have tried to play the tape in 3 different cams and 1 dv player...all with the same result. Solid dots of color on one side, being able to see only a thin strip of what I recorded on the side...

Is this something fixable? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Seth
