DV recording on SONY HD Tapes

The labels on the 63 min. sony hd tapes show that you can record both in HDV/DV modes on the tape, but does recording the new tape in DV first render it only recordable in DV after that? or can i still rewind the tape and record over the DV with HDV?

Yes. In fact, you can mix formats on the same tape, although that's somewhat bad media management, IMO.
