Dual MiniDV Deck wanted - but which one?

Hi I have come into a situation whereby I need a deck that can playback 2 different mini dv tapes at the same time through composite out. If the deck also had a firewire connection for capturing this would be helpful, but I'm not looking to spend too much. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Neither have I. Panasonic and JVC offer some dual decks, but they're S-VHS and Mini DV, or DVD and Mini DV. I've never seen one that has two Mini DV transports.

Not quite sure what this means either. One deck is expensive enough, a couple thousand at least. I'd shudder to think what a dual deck would cost, if they existed.

ive seen single decks for £700 or less. I know you can get dual decks as I used them at uni.. wish I'd taken note of the model numbers.
Basically I need to be able to play 2 different mini dv tapes and select which one I want to be outputted to a big screen through a vision mixer. I suppose this coul dbe done with 1 deck and switching tapes but would be more practical with a dual tape one.. if they exist!!

AFAIK, they do not exist... just get 2 decks and a switcher.

The only Dual DV deck I'm aware of is the Panasonic edit laptop. Will cost you a lot of dough though... ;-)

I wont waste the time on saying theres no such thing. But there is a Panasonic DVC Pro dual deck...the AJ-LT95E this is not discontinued to my knowledge. But with this particular deck you would us the adapter AJ-CS455 which is basically converting the dvc to mini dv. That is the only possible solution I can think of.

Can do both DVCPRO and DV. And can play back DVCAM.
