Go Pro Still Photo Field of View

Hard to believe there is so little information in the camera book or online that I can find about this.

I see you can change the MP count for a GoPro Hero2 still picture...or do a variety of burst and time lapse and delays...but can you change the field of view like you do with the video set up? Or is it permanently stuck on ultra wide angle?

I'm suspecting you don't yet have the Hero2 as the MP selection page in the menu has the angle of view setting along side. Wide being 170, Medium being 127.

Re: Go Pro Still Photo Field of View

ahhh....pretty sneaky. I figured it was in there somewhere. A little lame on part of the user manual: go to page 20 where it describes the photo resolution changes that can be made in the advanced settings queue.

Not a word about also using that menu item to alter the field of view in the still mode. But now I know.

Thanks!

Also keep in mind that in photo mode any cropping is going to throw away resolution - it is just as easy to shoot at full res and then crop later in post, assuming you have enough card-space.
