Color grading protune

Is there any point in using the gopro software to color grade/convert the protune footage (in my case from hero2)? The cineform avi files are enormous, and wondering whether there is any point (have resolve, premiere, speedgrade and vegas)...apart from laziness (sometimes I don't want an extended grading session, and I suck at grading..the one-click method from cineform studio is very handy). Then there's the time factor (exporting back to h.264)....it all takes time even on a dual-xeon workstation.

Wondering whether the decompression from mp4 to cineform has any benefits (it can't recreate what isn't there) and whether I should just grade directly in say premiere or after effects. Resolve is a bit overkill and not too familiar with it.

Any ideas? Have literally hundreds of clips, and even with a workstation with 30+ terabyts! running out of space. This is for home use, but I still want the clips to look their best..

It would be nice iff gopro/cineform would make available some kind of LUT and colorspace for the gopros, protune and a setting equivalent to the adjustments (curves, sharpness etc) they apply in their studio software, but have yet to find anything online. Just want to get footage from protune to rec709 for normal rgb/internet use. I guess I could bring a greycard everytime I go skiing! But not very practical...

Thanks in advance for any tips...haven't been here in a while....
