Day to Night Timelapse at DVinfo.net

Hi all - please have a look at my first foray into timelapse using stills from the GoPro Hero 3 black edition

I think I want to use this sort of shot in my wedding films but 2 things are bugging me. One is that as it's going dark there are a few points where the image brightens up as if gain is kicking in, another is that i can't see the stars and I know they were there. I've seen many GoPro timelapses with stars

What am I missing???
