Optical stabilization on or off

I know with a tripod you're supposed to turn the optical stabilization off with a camcorder. Is the same true with a monopod?

A monopod is inherrently less stable than a tripod, so if I were you and you were me, we'd both leave the Z1's SSSS on permanently.
