Manfrotto 560B or 561B for the Sony V1?

I have a Manfrotto 501MVB tripod and lately have been using the Manfrotto 776YB monopod as well - basically just a screwin monopod with no extra features (no feet either). Would like a more functional monopod now that I've discovered they exist...

From what I've read here the 561B seems the best bet for my Sony V1 (2.2kg I think). Is that right? Would the quickrelease plate on my 501 match with the 561B?

Or should I consider the 560B instead? It's a lot lighter, that's really good, and cheaper as well, but is there any compromise in functionality?
