David,

The only thing I can come up with is to do buy these two pieces. The wide angle also reverses into a Fisheye lens as well. Pretty cool but maybe a bit too big to throw off the form factor of your camera.

Here's what you need and a step-down ring and you're set.

Sanyo makes a WA lens for the HD1000. Any other lens will work, just need a stepup/down ring. I tried the Raynox HD6600 on it (used a 41.5 to 43 ring) and it worked fine. When I get a chance I will put up a demo clip.

Would this be compatible?

BTW Duane, are those videos on Vimeo yours? did you use the Xacti HD1000 to shoot them?

I got it, will post a pic of it fully mounted and sample pics with the sanyo!

I have the Raynox HD6600 in a 43mm and used a 40.5 to 43 step up ring. IMO it works good up to maybe 5x zoom. Above that it starts to get soft. The Sanyo WA converter is the same price as the Raynox but do not know the quality difference http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...NGLE_LENS.html.

My Vimeo videos were mostly done with a Canon HV20. Have not put up any with the Sanyo yet. When I do I will post it here.

This is my set up now...

Rayno HD-6600 PR (49MM) attached with a Sanyo 40.5mm to 49mm step up ring!

I will be using the lens for Biking events where the bike ride is about 5 feet away, i want to be able to capture everything. i'll post a video soon withthe WIDE angle lens!
