Anyone recommend something other than the 5pack from

I went filter hunting because I have a huge building noise and I downloaded the noise reducer from newblue and bam, it was all but gone. In fact, I may leave some noise in because the building is big and you would expect to have a little.

So I guess I'm asking for opinions on this software.

For the price, that's a very good package - and it has a lot of tools with it.
If you're really serious about noise reduction , then look at Izotope RX.
However, it's $350 and audio restoration is all it does.
It does it extremely well but then you'd have to buy all the other tools that come with the NewBlue package.

I can't say enough good things about NewBlue FX. All their plug-ins are the perfect mix of simplicity, ease of use, and good results. I've talked with the developers and their plan was to do just that and I sure think they have accomplished their goal.

Since the noise reducer did such a good job, I would get that sub package, I'm just debating on buying the complete audio package.

If you do reduce the noise to a point of being/sounding artificial, what you might ALSO consider is locating a slice of the building noise and applying it back in. You THEN have control on just how much you require and have the further option of SFX-ing that sound by itself. I have done something similar and it works a treat. Just 'cos we remove something doesn't mean, as you have found out, that we get what we want.

Don't know your Audio Redux s/w, but my vote too goes to Izotopes RX - totally amazing and responsive s/w that has a GUI interface that just blew me away.

Yeah, the building in question is like 160 years old, and was built to have the echo, carry sound etc, so after purchasing newbluefx, I've been pretty impressed with it's noise control on this project. Thanks for all the input. I'll keep my options open if I need to deepen my noise control software arsenal.

IMO, NewBlue is essential for Vegas video work, and for the price, NO ONE makes better audio tools.

Thanks Spot, I bout it, very happy, still trying to get the eq one but other than that, I'm very happy, it handled that huge old church air hiss very nicely.
