New Nikon hd video on the horizon?

I've heard that Nikon will be comming out with a model to compete with the Canon 5d, Supposedly with manual exposure controls. Anyone know anything about this/
Is there alsoa firmware update for the d90 video?
Thanks

I'm only aware of the Ni9kon D5000, with an HD mode equal to the D90:

Yes, there are rumours about several new dSLRs from Nikon. There are rumours that successors to both the D300 and D700 will be released this year. The successors might be called the D300s, the D400, the D700x or the D750.

It's the D700 series of cameras which compete most directly with the Canon 5D (i.e. full frame sensors at a reasonable price point)

Nikon Rumors is a good site for Nikon Rumours.

Personally, I would LOVE to see Nikon release a competitor to the 5DmkII because all my lenses are Nikon and I've been waiting to upgrade from my D50 for a while. But I haven't heard ANY reasons to believe that Nikon will nail the video mode any time soon. I'd speculate that all future Nikons will have a video mode but we'll have to wait at least a year before we see a video mode which is significantly better than the D90's. i.e. horrible rolling shutter, minuscule record times etc. In other words, I suspect this year's batch of Nikon cameras will basically be the existing cameras with the D90's video mode hacked on.
