Can Autosave Vault save my...

Project.

I am editing a doc. Today my external FW disk was not recognized by the system. It turns on, but itīs not mounted in the finder.
I have a second external FW drive with all the media, basically a copy of the disk I was using.
The question is:

IF I OPEN THE LATEST AUTOSAVED PROJECT FILE (from last night)WILL IT RECOGNIZED THE SECOND DRIVE AS MY SCRATCH DISK?

DOES IT HAVE TO HAVE THE SAME NAME AS MY DEAD DRIVE?

WILL I HAVE TO RECONNECT ALL THE MEDIA?

Thanks a lot.

I am guessing that when you open the Autosave file, it will prompt you to reconnect the media. Hit "Reconnect" and then hit "search" in the next box. It should automatically find the file, and then automatically reconnect every other file on the drive. Once it starts asking for render files you can hit "Connect" (unless you have all the render files, in which case do a search for those too). Hope that helps.

EDIT: Oh as far as the scratch disk, it will also prompt you to set a new scratch disk since the other drive is now offline.

Thanks Mike...

I just change the name of the new Drive to the one I was using with the other... Everything was there, but some render files.

I think basically the sistem does not notice it is a different unit.

Thanks again
