Boxes with video in fcp

I love the effect where you have several "boxes" with different videos in them. How can you get different boxes to be symmetrical, to match up perfectly(e.g. two boxes of video on one side of the screen with one large box on the other half)?

You can do this by layering your tracks of video and then cropping and reframing them accordingly using the motion tab properties.
Alternatively it would be very simple to set up a Master Template in Motion for your split, which you can then use in FCP.

Or you can also get plugins with "canned" versions of these effects, for example:

Piero's QuarterPIP:

Digital Heaven's DH Box:

Crumple Pop's Split Screen:

Bound to me more out there too if you look around.
Best

I also thought someone had a plug-in that created a grid view in the canvas, and you could re-size and and align how you desired. Not sure if it "snapped" to grid lines or not.

DH Grid, DH Guides, Andy's Guides, Luca's Lines and probably loads more ... no snapping to grid as these are separate generators.
