Interlaced lines when exporting to wmv for the web
 

Hello,

My project was shot on MiniDV NTSC 720x480 .9 pixel aspect ratio. I have used Premiere Pro CS2 to capture via firewire using the Standard DV NTSC project settings. I captured using the standard Windows DV codec.

Now that I have finished editing the project, I want to export it to the web. Something like 320x240 square pixels, around 120 kbps. When I use the Adobe Media Encoder, the results are less than satisfactory. I understand compression artifacts, but the visable combing during panning or fast motion is just horrific when played back on a PC using the Windows Media Player.

What are the best settings to use when exporting to the web so that the interlace combing is no longer visible? Do I need to render to 30 fps instead of 29.97 or something?

Computers natively use progressive scan to play back video. For best results on the web, try clicking the deinterlace button on Adobe Media Encoder, or select Progressive Scan for the output, or both. I haven't messed with interlaced to progressive conversions in awhile, I'm a bit rusty, sorry.

Anyways, it's worth a shot!
