Shipping a pc?

I know that zillions of PCs are shipped across the country every day but should I be concerned?

I'm moving across the country and will be shipping a lot of the stuff. I'm guessing Dell designs their boxes for rough treatment. But I'll be shipping them in the boxes that the cases came in. I'm thinking that they were NOT concerned about a full computer being in them.

I'm not too concerned about the hard drives--they are well supported but the video cards--not so much. Should I take them out and pack them separately?

The first choice would be shipping 2nd day but I was also thinking about a pallette--putting all of my stuff on a single pallette and having it sent by slow boat. I would think it would be harder to damage an entire pallette of stuff rather than a single box.

Any body got any thoughts on this?

Box-in-a-Box
Same way companies ship them at your door. Put the original box inside a bigger one with lots of stuff (air bubbles) for protection.

I ship PC's every week from my work...

You shouldn't have any problems, double the boxes up... leave a gap between the boxes...

when you open them after delivery you should open the computer and verify all boards are
plugged in correctly before you power it up...
