What to use for animated text effects.

I am wondering what software is being used to create animated text out there.

I am using Vegas and it has a text function for basically putting up a title and another function for creating credits, but I am interested in some other effects like text that moves around on the screen or the effect of the text looking like it is being written with a script type font.

Thanks for the help.

Both can be done in Vegas. You can animate a text event without
any problems. For typing, one of the ways to do this:

1. insert your text (event)
2. with a wipe you can slowly (since you can animate it) reveal the text

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the information. I may not have been very clear as to what I am looking for in the "writing" of the text. I am wanting to use a script type font and have it look like an invisible pen is actually writing the text as opposed to having it look like each individual letter is being typed.

Go to the Sundance site (I can't ever remember the address). There is a link to sundance there, also information for the handwriting titles that you are asking about. A lot of these sites have "VEG" files that you can download, and dissect to see how the effects are created.
