Video card -Dual DVI, high resolution?
 

Need a replacement for my ATI FireGL V5000, which had 2048x1538 on each of its two DVI channels.

I'm driving 2 Dell 2405's at 1920x1200 each via DVI, 32bit TrueColor at 60Hz.

What are good choices for such card nowadays, which are also EVGA mobo friendly? Nvidias maybe?

It's difficult to answer your question without knowing more. What editing software are you using? What kind of work do you do mostly?

I don't think the card needs to be optimized for any specific application, but I'll use it for the NLE workstation using Premiere Pro.

If you have, or plan to get Magic Bullet products you'll want an Nvidia card. MB products are apparently optimized only for Nvidia.

They claim that ATI hardware works in addition to Nvidia hardware. However, from my own experiences and those on this board will say that Adobe likes Nvidia cards better.

For CS4 they have certified the Geforce 7800 and 8800. I would suspect that the 9800 is supported too. I have a 7900 series and it is working well. I also know one who is using a GTX 260 and has no problems.

Yes. Nearly every Nvidia card will do this nowadays. There some cards from them still floating around that won't support this. But most do have 2 dual-link DVI-I outputs for driving those monitors you have. Stick with a higher end Geforce 8800, 9800, or GTX260/280.
