Tutorial: Filmic Fades and Dissolves
 
Hey guys. I know over the years people have been trying to create filmic or optical fades and dissolves in software. Well, in playing around with After Effects, I have come up with a method for doing so. You can view the tutorial for it at my blog. Hope you find it helpful...

Video Copilot has some free presets that look they do this same thing. I can tell a difference when I use them in lieu of dissolves and fade to black in PPCS3. Check it out and see if it works
