Nero 9 users?
 

Does anybody here use Nero 9? I am doing some experiments with it and my FX7, and have some questions.
1. When capturing footage from my FX7, is there any way other than stopping and starting the camcorder, to seperate each shot?

2. What footage I have seen so far when capturing the HDV footage and producing an AVCHD DVD is disappointing. It is nowhere near as good as what I see if I just connect the FX7 up to my plasma. Is there something I am missing in the setup with Nero?

Nero is consumer software, never expect it to produce high quality.

As far as capturing HDV, use HDV Split, free software. It can do what even some professional softwares can't: scene split.

Not only that but Nero 9 is a disaster. Bloatware at its penultimate that hijacks your system. Avoid at all cost.

Yep, good point. I stopped at version 6.

After upgrading to version 7 and seeing all the non-sense they included, I went back to 6 and I still use it today for CD/DVD burning. It works fine in conjunction with DVD Shrink - I use the latter for burning DVD folders to disk after fully testing navigation, languages, other DVD features. Also, it supports bit setting which is my way of making DVD+Rs play on every single player.

I'll add my voice to the consensus here. 6 was great and 9 does the same thing but a ton of superfluous junk. Bloatware... big time.

That said, Nero 9 is a Swiss army knife with too many gadgets. Using it as part of a professional video workflow will make you crazy. There are many tools, some of them free like HDV split that work better in our world.
