Need help fast with a school project!
 

Well i have to do a political commerical for a presidnrtal canidate. We my group screwed me over and i have nothgn to work with it. i have about a 30 secind clip so i need to put some still pictures in but i need the to fit the full screen how can i do this.I know how to put them in but that not full screen. Oh i forgot iam using premiere pro too. I wil probably will have more questions later.

It doesn't matter if the physical version of the photos are small - you can scan them in large, so the computer has resolution to work with.

I'd recommend importing 72 dpi, larger than 720x480 (so you can scale down to that afterwards) and also make sure you are in RGB mode.

Don't forget - you can't scale up without the photo becoming pixelated (looks like shit). You can scale down no problem - so, the idea is to work large to start and go down from there.

A couple of quick-n-dirty ways to deal with pictures that are smaller than 640x480/720x480:

1) Create a "frame" for the screen -- some kind of attractive border that will effectively reduce the screen size you have to fill with the photos. This space can also be filled with the text and other info you want to put in the ad. For an example see http://www.karatemedia.com/video and click on the Georgia Theatre ad. These are usually ads i have to do with both little notice and little (as in tiny) pictures from the web.

and/or

2) Multiple images on the screen at once/use of negative space: If you watch some ads you'll see that not all commercials fill the screen with an image. Keep the image at an acceptable resolution and pan it across the top of the screen while another pic travels across the screen below it. Or have the image fade into a corner and fill the rest with text (for example, a photo of Howard Dean that fills the upper left 25% of the screen, while a bullet list of points that the V/O is discussion goes down the right half of the screen.)

Don't feel pressured to fill the screen (a trap i always seem to fall into). Use negative space and text to balance out the small pictures.

i have a cou[le of ideas i was goign to say some things then have a pic of vermont peel into a pic of the us then are interview then a pic of howard dean i got the idea down. But i am going to use the boarder thing that was a great idea thanks!!!!
