Dell 2001FP for $750 - good for video editing?

Current Dell Promo

This deal from Dell is good through 2/9. Compared to the $999 retail, the current promo sounds pretty good. Would it be suitable for a video editing workstation? Or is it overkill?

That monitor gets a good review from www.anandtech.com. They look at it from a gaming standpoint, but some of that information applies to video too (the stuff on ghosting, and the test with the Matrix DVD).

As far as accuracy to your video goes, you should be using a NTSC monitor anyways. What appears on your computer screen is not what you get for many reasons (overscan, no interlacing, etc.).

I just got this. The resolution is great for AVID XpressDV and the color looks great. But it is no substitude for a NTSC monitor. The S-Video input can be used for quick previews but looks rather bad compared to a TV
