Softwares
 
Hello,
I am just wondering what softwares you all use editing film ,hd,hdv or dv material.For video editing or audio or any film effects.Like on Mac everybody use Final Cut Pro but additionally what kind of softwares are needed to create good looking movies ??

Gabor,

Most mid-range editing software . . . Premiere, Vegas, FCP will do a good job on creating a movie with DV By the end of the year I expect they all will do HDV.

As you get to HD, the problem is the software is a small part of the solution. FCP and other similar software can edit HD but right now, until the new consumer DV format standard appears in new hardware, they need expensive hardware assists to do so with any degree of speed.

Affordable HD editing is coming. But it may take until the end of the year before we see all of the necessary inexpensive components.

If you have a lot of money, then HD editing is available today on the more expensive system.
