Help a noob with firewire prob please!

Ok heres the thing, im doing my project at home as the school system sucks ( PII 333 with discreet edit 5 ) and I got avid dv 3.5 from a friend Running on my athton OC 2.4 ghz ( DFI NFII ULTRA B mother board with onboard firewire). so im using a panny AG-DVC80 and my computer cant see it no way no how, doesnt matter if cam is on when i boot or anything. tried avid and movie maker they cant see it. not good as its now crunch time and need to get this done this week end to turn it in on monday, its our final project.

The compurter says the firewire controller is fine and complaint.

You would be surprised how often this happens in Firewire. Don't know why these cables are more susceptible to damage than others, but I've dinged a couple in the past few months.....

Good that you figured it out though.
