Lines problem with Mpeg2
 

Hi I am having problem when I render a project to a "NTSC DVD" file. I want to make a DVD so I ooutput to a MPEG2 file but the video always has line when there is fast motion. I think is something about 'interlace' issue. I almost try everything, every setting and it still having problem when I watch the file on my LCD monitor. I haven't try to watch it on TV yet.

Is anyone has solution of how to make it disappear with those lines?

Yes, that indeed sounds like interlacing.

Please provide us with the following information:

1) which NLE and/or MPEG encoder are you using?

2) was your footage shot in interlaced or in progressive/frame mode

3) is your project set to interlaced (which field first) or progressive?

4) are the MPEG output settings set to progressive or interlaced (which field first)?

Okay, also DO watch the DVD on a TV.

There can be a couple of things wrong:

1) nothing is wrong, your footage and disc are just interlacing which *can* see on a computer, but not on a TV.

2) you swapped the field order somewhere

3) you swapped from progressive to interlaced somewhere or vice versa

Keep in mind that if you have interlaced footage DV is lower field
first, but DVD is upper field first.

>I am using Ulead MediaStudio Pro 7, I also tried encode as a avi then convert it to mpeg2 by TmpegEn

2) was your footage shot in interlaced or in progressive/frame mode
>My footages was shoot by Canon GL2 with interlaced.

3) is your project set to interlaced (which field first) or progressive?

I try watching some movie DVD on my computer LCD monitor and some of them do have lines but some of them has none.

There can be a couple of things wrong:

P.S. I did render a Mpeg2 that only using still photo moving around, that's has no problem even I didn't set thing correctly, I guess photo is not as same as video footages.

A photo is not the same indeed. Check the TV first. If the problem
persists then you have a field order swapping problem. I don't
have your package so I can't check how to set the settings etc.
