ATI / matrox
I have used the ATI card a few times before on a Targa 3000 machine , and it is all that the salesman stated to you, however I can not verify if it will work with your Avid system. Avid is really picky with any thing hooked on your computer, so id try and find out if it will be compatible before you buy. On one of my schools Avid MCExpress Machines they have a Matrox Millennium card so the 550 should work, but its not nearly as nice as the ATI
