converting i tunes songs to wav files

Ok I downloaded a song from itunes a few days ago to use in my promo for my film. I tried to convert it to .WAV format so i could bring into AE/Premier pro but when I right clicked on the song and clicked convert to wav it said "this song is protected and can't be converted". Does anyone know what this is, and how i can change it??/

The only way I know of is to burn the song to a CD and then rip the song back to your computer (don't just copy the file over or the rights will be carried with it, preventing you from converting it)

If I need a piece of music that exists in my iTunes files, I open up CoolEdit Pro, go into record mode - setting Windows audio properties > sound recording > to Stereo Mix, hit the iTunes start and away to go: one WAV file.
Of course, it has to be copied in real time, but if it's only one piece of music, it isn't so bad...
The same process can be done with Windows Sound Recorder as well.

Does it need to be said that you are having difficulty because you are using the music in a way it is not intended to be used? If you were legally licensing this music, it would be provided to you in a form you could more easily use.

Look into local bands and independant record labels. Many will let you use songs for free or a very small fee... if you ask permission.
