DV editing card WITHOUT software bundle?

Are there any places that sell DVD editing cards (like a Matrox) without the Adobe software bundle? I'm already running PPro 1.5, Audition, and Encore.

I assume you really want a card like Matrox? Because you can
also edit with a cheap OHCI compliant firewire card.

Right, and I've got a standard Firewire card, but render times are hideous on that thing.

I think you can buy the Matrox RTX 100 on its own. Get in contact with an approved Matrox delear, or contact them directly. They are pretty picky about what hardware they will work with. So check out the recommended specs from matrox website www.matrox.com/video.

research...

Remember, your firewire card renders nothing. Your processor does all the work when exporting/rendering your finished work. The only speed advantage of a realtime board is to have render-free previews on about 4 layers of video. Since PPro does this in it's software environment, you have to question the expense of hardware rendering. Yes the package of real-time transitions is cool and the pre-keyframed pips, peels and wipes makes for a cool NLE demo reel but in reality ...? You be the judge.

Also, some bundled titling software can actually prolong the export process ... adding time to render/export.

Best way to test is to hit a retail store where the board is in place and test the system for yourself.

YES! We now have the RTX100 card available for $599.95.

Attention Adobe Premiere Owners:
Upgrade to the RTX100 hardware (requires Premiere Pro Serial # - You do not need to send in an old card, because we will provide an old card for you)
