Sony Dsr-pd100a "copy Inhibit"

I AM TRYING TO COPY SOME OLD HOME FAMILY VHS VIDEOS ON TO MINI DVCAM USING MY PD100A AS A VCR. WHEN I START THE PROCESS, I GET "COPY INHIBIT" ON THE SCREEN, EVENTHOUGH THE TAPE IS NOT COPY WRITTED, BUT AN ACTUAL HOME VIDEO. IF I INPUT A COLOR BAR GENERATOR, OR COMPOSIT VIDEO FROM ANOTHER CAMERA, THE COPY INHIBIT IS NOT PRESENT AND THE "RECORD" FUNCTION WORKS OK. WHY IS THE VTR RECOGNIZING THE HOME MOVIE AS "COPYWRITED MATERIAL"?
I REALIZE I WILL GET THE SAME LOW QUALITY VIDEO AS WAS ON THE ORIGINAL VHS TAPE, BUT IT ALLOWS ME TO RECORD AND THAN SHOW SELECTED MATERIAL TO FRIENDS ON THE CAMERA VIEWER.

ANY WAYS TO GET AROUND THIS?

THANKS, ROGER

First things first - let's locate that Caps Lock key. You might try pressing it once - it seems to be stuck ON.

As for the actual problem, you have some video "noise" that is appearing to the camera as copy protection.

Look through this thread and see if it helps:

EDWARD,

THANKS FOR THE FAST REPLY. I HAD ALREADY FOLLOWED THAT THREAD, AND THE INFO WAS JUST WHAT I NEEDED. WOULD HAVE EXPECTED SONY TO USE A MORE SOPHISTICATED METHOD OF DETERMINING "COPYWRITE" INFORMATION FROM "NOISE" ON THE SYNC PULSE. CAPS LOCK IS ALWAYS ON, BECAUSE ONE WRITES SO OTHERS CAN EASILY READ IT. WITH THE GLOBAL NET, IT IS EASIER FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE ENGLISH AS A FIRST LANGUAGE TO READ, AND USE TRANSLATION SOFTWARE TO CONVERT UPPERCASE ENGLISH INTO OTHER LANGUAGES. TRY READING RUSSIAN WITH MIXED UPPER AND LOWER CASE IN THE SENTENCES.

Sorry Roger but to the other 15,542 members who don't speak Russian (since these forums are based in English) it is commonly considered rude to post in all caps because it is 1. In fact more difficult to read (otherwise why wouldn't they print books in all caps) and 2. Considered shouting or yelling on the internet (which is actually the more important reason here).
If you look around these boards you would come to find that it is frowned upon as has been stated so as politely as possible in a few posts. I think "MOST" users here would greatly appreciate it if you would refrain from posting in all caps in the future.

Thanks

Have you tried to capture the video from a different VCR to see if it reacts differently? Maybe it is the VCR sending a bad signal.
