Dv quality after rendering in AE

I just ran a 53 min project, a 100% captured in full DV quality project through After Effects 5, applying Cinelook effects from the plugin. The final result when copied back to the camcorder seemed fine on playback until the camera pans round a scene, even slowly, there are noticeable rippling effects when it does so. There does not seem to be an obvious loss of picture quality in any other way, so what has caused this curious rippling effect when the camera moves, or for a moving object in the frame, even when slow. There are no dropped frames, I captured at 25 FPS which is the default in Premiere 6, and rendered at 25 fps in AE.

I saved the project in AE as full DV quality, output as an avi file at the default lossless DV resolution setting. The rendered file is marginally bigger than the captured original, so it appears I have lost no data in the transfer.

Hopefully no one will hurt me for making suggestions here. 25 FPS--is that a PAL XL1/s camera, and frame mode/progressive scan?

And by rippling, do you mean strobing?

I've noticed pans in frame mode look like ass, once you get past a certain speed.

If I'm way off base, think nothing of it.

No its a Sony TRV240E. Premiere seemed to default to capturing at 25 FPS each time I ran the software. perhaps I should have captured at the actual default camera speed, 29 FPS?

If you have an NTSC camera you should have captured and worked
at NTSC 29.97 fps (dropped). NOT 25 fps. If you do that you've
done framerate conversion which will be very bad with motion
(as you've found out)!
