Sample clip!

Just got my cam in and took a short sample clip with it at a shutter speed of 1000 and ND 1.... stock hood, no filters, no sound.

http://www.abnaconsulting.com/testing1.avi (60MB)

Question... why does the monitor window in my NLE (premiere pro) play the clip very washed out compared to windows media player? Looks like there's about -50% saturation in PP. I must be overlooking something. Is PP simulating what it will look like on a tv or something?

Edit: Stupid me... use overlays was on in WMP... booo!

Does that mean you solved the problem?

You can control overlay parameters through your video card driver. If you have ATI go to Display Settings/Advanced/Overlay. There is contrast, gamma etc. settings.
I prefer to use overlays since I can control video settings separately from my Windows settings.
