Problem with external USB 2.0 drive

Hey guys, a problem...
I got a new USB 2.0 drive and I'm pretty happy with the performance. The only problem is that it won't allow me more than 3.82 gb of file transfer at a time. If I'm capturing video it stops at 3.82 gb and I can't put any files larger than that on the HDD at a single time.

Please help if possible,
Thanks.

Sounds like the drive may be formatted with the FAT32 file system, which doesn't allow files larger than 4GB. If you are running an NT Windows OS (Windows 2000, XP, etc.), then reformat the drive using NTFS. To do this in Windows XP right click the drive in My Computer and choose Format.

I don't know how big your drive is but get ready to wait while formatting. Below was my experience. It could be software related as well if your capture software doesn't allow that much transfer per file. I experienced that with some Matrox software a while back but it was resolved with later updates.

Hey thanks, it worked.
I left it formating when I left to school so it was done when I was back home. SWEET, THX.
