Any Handbrake experts? Question...

Can Handbrake take a folder of AVCHD and convert to a single mp4 file? Ideally, I am trying to take a folder of a few hundred clips, join to 1 hour files and convert to MP4. Instead of having hundreds of files totaling 4 hours, I would rather edit 4 files that are 1 hour each.

Darryn didn't you ask this in another post?

Anyhow I re-discovered the file joiner utility that I had previously mentioned in that post and it will do what you want. It does a good job. It goes by the name of 'File Joiner' believe it or not and it can be found here.

File Joiner - Easy .001 Joiner

It is a standalone utility that needs no installation and will stitch all your card files together into one seamless .MTS file that you can edit. It can also 'append' files. I would suggest staying in the .MTS format for editing rather than going to MP4.

If you really have to go to MP4 then you will need to use something like 'WinRewrap' that can rewrap the now merged large MTS files to MP4. It can be found here.

WinRewrap - Batch ReWrap MTS to MP4/MOV . - Personal View Talks

Just watch out in WinRewrap that you have the correct audio format selected for the footage you are converting. Normally it would be AAC. If it wont' run just try the other audio output options.
