VHS - same field order as DV?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

If you capture from an anlaogue vhs cassette and then send it back to vhs tape (after edits) is the field order the same as DV?

The project presets in Vegas for instance have "standard PAL" as upper field first, and "DV PAL" as lower field first.

I'm thinking because it's captured and output through dv channels it would be lower first.

If you used an analog to digital converter (Avid, Pinnacle, etc.), read the instructions to find the field order. If you used any sort of "DV" converter (like a DV camcorder, VTR or DV bridge), your field order is lower field first.

I have the video player/recorder plugged into a Canopus DVStorm2 pci card.
