Help with video stabilisation on Linux

Has anyone managed to use Vid. Stab successfully and if so, how?

There are two ways to apply it in Kdenlive and one in Shotcut. If I apply it in the Kdenlive media tree, which is before trimming, it seems to have very little effect.

If I attempt to apply it from the timeline after trimming, I can bring up the Detect and Transform settings, but nothing happens. Sometimes I get the error "Bad image sequence" which asks for confirmation, but after confirming, still nothing happens. If I try to apply Deshake I get the notice "Problem adding effect to clip".

I know Detect and Transform is pass 1 and Deshake is pass 2, but can find no way (yet) to run pass 1 so I can apply pass 2. Can you help?

I tried it in Shotcut as a test, with little success.

It can also be applied using the command line, but I am struggling to get it to work this way (I am not au fait with the command line). Again, any assistance will be appreciated.

I am using openSUSE 13.1.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Dave

Re: Help with video stabilisation on Linux

Bump - just in case someone who can help missed my post.

Otherwise, since I posted two weeks ago, shall I assume nobody here knows anything that may help?

Cheers anyway,
Dave
