Just ordered my Alienware laptop.
 

I'm looking into getting a powerfull laptop.

I was checking out the Alienware website and their lap tops really caught my eye.

I don't understand a lot about the technical specs behind a computer, all I know is that the bigger the numbers the more powerful the system.

Have any of you had experience with these computers?

Is there any laptops you'd recommend?

Alienware is the same thing as Sager Laptops, except more expensive and cooler looking.

2- What's your budget?
What are the main programs you want to run on the laptop?

I'd probably want to use any of the top line editing software.

Vegas, After Effects, Avid, Premiere, Final Cut etc...

Maybe even a 3d program such as XSI.

I'm going to start with capturing SD, but eventually want to upgrade to HD.

My budget in US dollars, maybe around 3,500 give or take 500 dollars.

We had one of these the last place I worked and they loved it. Gets quite warm with all the goodies and weighs a bit more than you might think.
