Software that capable of real-time DV output through firewire port

Is there a editing software that capable of outputting DV signal in real-time via firewire? My really problem is how can i preview my work on external production monitor without adding real-time editing cards. If theres a software that capable of outputting DV signal via firewire I can hook the firewire to my Sony Videocam with D/A passthrough then connect the S-video out from my videocam to S-video input of my monitor. Is it possible? if not what is the cheapest way to connect it to external monitor for color correction etc.

I use Mediastudio to do this. It's also important that your camera supports realtime A/D-D/A conversion. I had one of the first Digital8s that would stutter when I tried this.

I use an ATI All-In-Wonder to output to a monitor, now. Any video that is Directshow compatible will play out to the monitor fullscreen, so you don't have to be limited to your editing software to output to your monitor. You can play it from anywhere. And I believe, if your software does not support output to your camera, the ATI will do it for you, again as long as it is a Directshow video.

Canopus Edius Pro3 will output realtime to DV for most effects/transitions that you would apply. Most of the other NLE's will output to DV but may require a partial render or provide a frame rate or resolution reduced output in preview. The approach you suggested will work. I have Edius Pro3, Vegas 6 and Premiere. They will all output to DV but Edius is the only one that will produce realtime, full quality output without rendering. Purely for colour correction all these NLE's will work. For output back to DV tape Edius is the fastest, then Premiere and then Vegas. The Canopus hardware provides an analogue output and hardware codec so eases the load on the CPU for rendering but the 1394 connector on the older Canopus cards is not OHCI complient so you cannot connect a hard drive etc to this connector only a camcorder or DV deck.
